Wychwood brewery is rich with history and sits at the Old Eagle Maltings in Witney, Oxfordshire. It was more than 150 years ago when barley was malted for the town’s brewery at this site. Today’s incarnation of the Wychwood brewery is cemented in craft brewing folklore. In 1988, a local landlord tasked Wychwood with brewing a celebratory beer for his daughter’s wedding. Founder and Head Brewer Chris Moss created a masterpiece, the legendary “Ruby Beer” known as Hobgoblin.
Full-bodied, Ruby beer that delivers a delicious chocolate toffee malt flavour, balanced with a rounded moderate bitterness and an overall fruity, mischievous character. The rich chocolaty flavours call for sweeter foods such as meat pies; pork pies; hamburgers; roasts; nuts; char-grilled vegetables.
